Congratulations you're expecting a baby! Getting consistent pre-natal care throughout your pregnancy is one of the most important ways you can love and care for your baby even before he or she is born. We partner with you in the management of your pregnancy and respect your individual preferences for delivery, as long as they are medically safe. We are happy to answer your questions and fully discuss your options for pre-natal care and delivery.

What to Expect at Your Office Visits

Your First Appointment
|
 |
|
At your first visit to our staff will welcome you to the practice, interview you about your medical history, and evaluate your overall health using a battery of seven lab screenings to rule out threats to your health and your baby's, such as anemia, HIV, syphilis, hepatitis, Herpes and rubella. If you are experiencing spotting or bleeding, or if you're unsure about the date of your last menstrual period, we will schedule an ultrasound exam on your first visit with the doctor. Our ultrasound lab is literally just down the hall from our exam rooms for your convenience.

Subsequent Appointments
|
 |
|
Our goal at is to treat you like family. We communicate with you one-on-one to make your pregnancy a healthy and positive experience. That's why we personally call new patients at home before they return for their next visit to welcome them and see if they have any questions.
|
 |
|
You'll meet with your doctor/midwife once a month until the seventh month of your pregnancy, when your appointments will be scheduled every other week. Your appointments will be scheduled weekly in your ninth month.
|
 |
|
Lab Screenings and Ultrasound
|
 |
|
A lab test screening for Down Syndrome and other genetic conditions will be performed between your 15th to 21st week of pregnancy. A final set of lab screenings is scheduled for your 28th week to check for diabetes and anemia.
|
 |
|
An ultrasound exam will be scheduled at approximately your 20th week of pregnancy. For your convenience, our ultrasound equipment is right here in our office. Your doctor may schedule additional ultrasound exams if your condition warrants it.

|
If any problems in your pregnancy arise, your doctor may refer you for specialized services at one of our health care affiliates.
